Five Awesome Boats that Use MarineDiesel Engines
/in Marinediesel, Projects / Sea Trials /by
MarineDiesel has been involved in a number of really interesting (Ok, cool) projects over the years. Some were more successful than others from a commercial perspective. Some became proven performers. All were very interesting or innovative. The list below is some of the more interesting applications that have used our engines:
1. The Pirate Ship
This vessel was intended as a tourism charter in SE Asia. Very unique, but the project floundered due to many different reasons. Nonetheless, the engine is still running.
2. The Around Britain Race
3. Small Passenger Ferry Greenland
4. Dutch Workboats
5. Navalcraft
Some MarineDiesel Projects – Military Vessels

Today’s post continues the series of reference photos we have been posting this week. The photos below are of MarineDiesel projects related to military and government vessels.
Indeed, MarineDiesel’s specialization in high performance power is ideally suited to military vessels. Long life cycles and unmatched torque curves make MarineDiesel the best choice, and sometimes the only choice, for powering military vessels. Engines developed for recreational use simply cannot withstand the harsh operating conditions and power demands that military missions require.
If you have an upcoming project, contact us directly or your MarineDiesel distributor for a custom quote or proposal.
Some MarineDiesel Projects – Commercial Vessels

Today’s post is some more reference photos of projects that use MarineDiesel engines. These photos are of high performance commercial vessels.
MarineDiesel engines are rated to take the heavy use and harsh conditions that commercial operations experience, and are the only engine in the market specifically developed for these types of applications.
We hope you find these photos interesting. Contact us or your local MarineDiesel distributor today for a quote on your project.

It has been a while since we posted some pictures or reference photos, so today we are showing some pictures of vessels that use MarineDiesel engines. Our specialty is manufacturing engines for high performance vessels, and this article focuses on recreational vessels.
We hope you find these pictures interesting. Please contact us or your local MarineDiesel distributor for a customized quote for your project.

The pictures below are on a recent project with the MarineDiesel VGT450 and Alamarin Jets. MarineDiesel has worked with Alamarin on many projects, and they are one of our partner vendors on engine packages. Alamarin are known for building reliable water jet systems that are easy to maintain and affordable.

Here are the details of one such project back in 2010:
Re-Powering of the Hägglund BV206, from petrol to diesel
The old engine and transmission in the petrol version of Bv206 were due for replacement. This driveline had been in service for almost 30 years. The use of leaded petrol is a logistic problem for the user.
By replacing the driveline with a modern diesel engine and transmission this vehicle can be kept in service for many years to come.
GM A20DTH diesel engine
Hydra-Matic 4L80E transmission
New drive line will fit inside existing engine covers
New air filtration system using Donaldson Air filter. Cold air is ducted from a ventilation louver mounted between doors on the right side of the vehicle.
New cooling system using combined water cooler and charge air cooler. Fan speed is adjusted to suite the lower speed of the diesel engine.

Practical maximum draw bar pull is normally limited by friction to approx. 40kN depending on vehicle weight and surface
